“We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the
restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon
the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and,
that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.” I was
thinking about that and that just is amazing how the Lord works. Through all
these centuries and all the confusion all the wars and turmoil, the ten tribes
will literally be gathered. Those that are part of their individual tribes will
be found and brought unto the gospel. That amazes me and how glorious the power
of the Lord is and His wisdom – it just spans through numberless years; He
doesn’t know time and nothing hinders Him, that blows my mind, but I got
thinking about how the Lord will reign personally on the earth. He will rule
and govern, and it caused me to reflect a little bit because government is
difficult and I’m not sure how there’s going to be a perfect government in the millennium.
I started studying that and I found a quote by N. Marion
law; it says, “We need to be aware that the agency of force, of unrighteous
dominion, the greatest agency is government because government administers out
of the end of the barrel of a gun. It’s always that simple, until we come to
the day where we have a government of God based on the Constitution… then we
will have the only true form of government upon the earth.” Government is force
and it is difficult; it’s difficult to handle; it’s difficult to be righteous;
it’s difficult to be free, and I’m just glad the Lord is going to be the head
of the government in the millennium that we may all be free, we may all have
our rights and we can be one hundred percent faithful in our religious duties
in the millennium, that we may have temples, that we may be able to do all the
things that the gospel requires of us. Joseph Smith said, “It will not be by
sword or gun that this kingdom will roll on: the power of truth is such that
all nations will be under the necessity of obeying the Gospel.” This
government, it’s going to be one of truth and of the gospel. That’s how He
solves that problem. Truth is Christ; Christ is light, and He has organization skills;
He organized matter; He organized us; our souls came from His light, and His
government is going to rule, and it will have organization, and we’ll have
freedom. Brigham Young said, “Few, if any, understand what a theocratic
government is,” theocratic is the government that is to be set up; that’s what
it’s going to be called when under Christ’s rule. He said, “In every sense of
the word, it is a republican government, and differs but little in form from
our National, State, and Territorial Governments” He says on a different
occasion, “The Constitution and laws of the United States resemble a theocracy
more closely than any government now on the earth, or that ever has been so far
as we know, except the government of the Children of Israel to the time when
they elected a king,” and I love that. The truth is amazing to me. The United
States government, the Constitution, we know that it was raised up, that God raised
up the people to create this; we know that it was inspired; it had the stamp of
approval by Christ and by God, and I love that. We live in a country whose government
is approved by God. None other – I don’t think – none other can say that. That
is going to be similar to the government we are going to have in the millennium.
The United States
government – the one we are familiar with will be the one that rules that
Christ will be the head of during the whole millennium – and that… I love that.
It just shows how wonderful the country is that we live in right now, how the
world will be, how wonderful God’s plan is and how it all works together; I
love seeing that. Brigham Young again said. “I have had some people ask me how
I manage and control the people. I do it by telling them the truth and letting
them do just as they have a mind to,” and we all know the Joseph Smith quote
that says I do not govern my people – he said something along these lines – I
teach them correct principles and they govern themselves. That’s how we
function right now, and that’s how the Lord will function. There will be
righteous people everywhere. That’s the reason there can be no wickedness
during the millennium. All the wicked will be purged and will be thrown from
the earth because they cannot govern themselves and we cannot have a forceful
government in the millennium. They will have to be purged and there will be no
one but righteous people all over the earth governing themselves;
they will be teaching each other; they will be learning truth, receiving light
from the head of the church, Christ, and the head of the government. He will
rule and there will be truth and peace and prosperity everywhere, and I love
that. I look forward to it every day. I love how uniform and consistent the
Lord is. He rules heaven and He rules church and He’s going to rule the
government all the same ways – by truth and by righteousness, by patience; it’s
never force. He will never force us to our knees – I love that quote – he brings
us there gently. As it says in Matthew 6:10, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done in earth, as it is in heaven.” It will be the same everywhere. The Lords
righteousness will reign, and we will all feel it; we will all share it; we
will all be learning more of it and living it, and it
will be the millennium as we all know it. There will be peace; it will be
light; it will be wonderful. D&C 65:2-6 mentions a little bit of this. “The
keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence
shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is
cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the
whole earth,” the gospel as we all know, “Yea, a voice crying—prepare
ye the way of the Lord, prepare ye the supper of the Lamb, make ready for the
Bridegroom. Pray unto the Lord, call upon his holy name, make known his wonderful works among the people. Call
upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth,
that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, and be prepared for the
days to come, in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in
the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God
which is set up on the earth. Wherefore, may the kingdom of God
go forth, that the kingdom of heaven may come, that thou, O God, mayest be glorified
in heaven so on earth, that thine enemies may be subdued; for thine is the
honor, power and glory, forever and ever. Amen.” “May the Kingdom of God
go forth, that the kingdom of heaven may come.” It’s going to be the gospel,
the truth that we have now, the church that we are sending throughout all the world – that I’m about to go share in Japan and bring
souls unto with love and with patience. That is preparing the way for the
kingdom of heaven to come. This is what the millennium is going to be. I urge
you to learn of the kingdom
of God familiarize
yourself with it. Love the gospel. Open the scriptures with joy, not because it’s
a commandment, not because we’re suppose to; we should open the scriptures
because we love it, because we know that it’s true, because we know it is the
only way to joy and eternal happiness. We need to familiarize ourselves with
the gospel, read scriptures often, not daily, all day,
always keep it in our hearts and minds. We need to familiarize ourselves with
righteousness, with God’s light because that is the light that will be ruling
us – in our spiritual means, in our government ways, in the millennium – which
is soon to come. It will rule everywhere; it will be omnipresent – as it were.
Familiarize yourselves with it and prepare the way for it. It says, “Prepare ye
the way of the Lord, prepare ye the supper of the Lamb, make ready for the
Bridegroom.” Prepare it that it may come. As we teach and as we share it, as
this rock rolls forth to all the ends of the earth the millennium comes closer.
It becomes greater; everything will become greater. I just don’t even know how
to explain it. It’s exponential; it never ends. The more we preach the greater
it becomes and the more there is to preach and the more there is to receive;
the gospel is amazing. It can touch everyone’s hearts; it can change everyone’s
lives. It will rule in everyone’s daily affairs; it will rule for eternity, and
Christ’s light will flow through the universe and flow through everybody. Learn
of it; share it; prepare for it that we will be ready for it. I don’t want to
see anyone scourged off because they were not ready for it because they were
not familiar with it. Prepare the way that the Lord may come. For “We believe in the literal
gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the
New Jerusalem) will be BUILT upon the American continent; that Christ will
reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and
receive its paradisiacal glory.” I say these things humbly in the name of Jesus
Christ, Amen.
