If you have read some of what is on my site or will be reading soon and you get to wondering, ‘yeah, what now?’ First, I’m extremely grateful that you are choosing to take an active part in this eternal struggle, and I can only offer you a place to start. There is a record in the Book of Mormon that goes as follows.

“And thus we see that the Spirit of the Lord began to withdraw from the Nephites, because of the wickedness and the hardness of their hearts. And thus we see that the Lord began to pour out his Spirit upon the Lamanites, because of their easiness and willingness to believe in his words. And it came to pass that the Lamanites did hunt the band of robbers of Gadianton; and they did preach the word of God among the more wicked part of them, insomuch that this band of robbers was utterly destroyed from among the Lamanites. And it came to pass on the other hand, that the Nephites did build them up and support them, beginning at the more wicked part of them, until they had overspread all the land of the Nephites, and had seduced the more part of the righteous until they had come down to believe in their works and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations. And thus they did obtain the sole management of the government.” (Helaman 6:35-39)

To sum up, the Nephites hardened their hearts to the Lord’s words concerning freedom and secret combinations. The Lamanites believed in the sanctity of freedom and the threat secret combinations posed to it. The Lamanites taught by the spirit to those who supported the secret combination about the truth of their works and about freedom, and the robbers believed in their words. The Nephites, the church at that time, were deceived into believing and supporting the secret combination, and because the Nephites did not resist and expose it, the secret combination gained complete control of the government - all with the approval of the Nephites.

All the Lamanites did was teach the truth to those that supported the combination, and that is all we need to do today. The John Birch Society says that the only way to destroy a conspiracy is to expose it, and that is our mission. Many of those supporting secret combinations are doing so ignorantly; all we have to do is show them the threat and teach them the truth, and they will believe if we teach with the spirit. And as I usually do, I will reinforce my message with some quotes.

“Let us, by exercising our privileges under the Constitution… Devote our time, means, and life if necessary, to hold inviolate those laws which will secure to each individual the free exercise of conscience, the right and control of property, and the protection of life.” (David O. McKay, “Free Agency . . . A Divine Gift” 367, 378)

“Now it is not so much a case of a man giving up all his other duties to fight for freedom, as it is a case of a man getting his life in balance so he can discharge all of his God-given responsibilities. And of all these responsibilities President McKay has said that we have “no greater immediate responsibility” than “to protect the freedom vouchsafed by the Constitution of the United States.” There is no excuse that can compensate for the loss of liberty.” (Ezra Taft Benson, Our Immediate Responsibility)

For me, I have devoted my life, but for most, the best thing to do is study the issues and correct principles, write some letters to representatives, but most of all, stand up for the right thing at the right time. Listen to the spirit in every small choice, those times when your conscience says that you should go to sleep now, you should turn that show off or you really shouldn’t eat that. Listen to the quiet nudges and you will be ready to receive all the larger promptings. When friends or family are talking about government, make sure you have studied the correct principles and stand up, be counted and speak out for truth - don’t let people be deceived. When an awakening of knowledge spreads across this country, nothing will stand in the way of this country being great and free.

As Edward Everett Hale once said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. That which I can do, I should do, and that which I should do, by the grace of God I will do.” My prayers are with all those in the struggle for freedom, and may the world be awakened.
